Great news to start 2014. Special Effects Supervisor Chris Corbould, who worked in 13 James Bond films since 1977's THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, will be awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE). Born in Britain, he started as a technican in the 10th James Bond adventure starring Roger Moore, and remained a member of the 007 crew until he was promoted to Special Effects Supervisor in GOLDENEYE and remained in that charge except for QUANTUM OF SOLACE in 2008, where he served as Miniature Effects Supervisor.
Courbould was also involved in the special effects of many franchises including SUPERMAN III, THE DARK KNIGHT and BATMAN BEGINS. Other works includes 102 DALMATIANS, LARA CROFT: TOMB RAIDER (co-starring Daniel Craig), and Christopher Nolan's INCEPTION in 2010.
