From the first time since 1981, when Sheena Easton's song for FOR YOUR EYES ONLY was nominated, another James Bond film was just awarded with five Academy Awards Nominations. SKYFALL will compete in the Academy Awards on February 24th, 2013 in five categories, also beating THE SPY WHO LOVED ME three nomination record.

  • Best Cinematography: ROGER DEAKINS
  • Best Original Song: "Skyfall", ADELE
  • Best Original Score: THOMAS NEWMAN
  • Best Sound Mixing: SCOTT MILLAN, GREG P. RUSSELL, STUART WILSON
  • Best Sound Editing: PER HALLBERG, KAREN BAKER LANDERS

The Shangain scene: one of the best examples
of Roger Deakins' cinematography

While Javier Bardem and Judi Dench performances didn't make it, we're happy that many debts with the Bond films are now fulfilled. And the ceremony will contain a tribute show to homage the 50 years of James Bond onscreen. There are rumours that the six 007 actors will appear on stage for the first time.
